Bios: Faculty and Staff
Pam Reid, MSSA, ACSW, LISW-S, CW I & II Course Instructor
Ms. Reid has been employed full time for more than 21 years with Summit County Children Services where she has been both a line worker and a supervisor. Currently she is a supervisor in the Intake Department. She was instrumental in the development and design of both Summit County Children Services’ Respite Center for their foster parents and the agency’s student placement program. She has been a part-time instructor in the School of Social Work at the University of Akron for the past 10 years.
Ms. Reid is a certified trainer with the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program. She has presented and trained on the local, state and national level and has her own training and consulting group, specializing in the areas of ethics, poverty, assessing dirty homes and gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues. Ms. Reid was also named the 2004 Social Worker of the year for the State of Ohio, NASW chapter, and was elected to the NASW Delegate Assembly for 2008.
In her spare time, Ms. Reid enjoys spending time with her partner and their 4 dogs. She is a music director at Emmanuel Fellowship Church and sings with the City of Flags chorus, a women’s 4 part-harmony chorus, part of the Sweet Adeline’s International organization.
